Disclaimer: this isn’t the pct but a little intermission 🙂
A dear cousin got married July 25th and two dear friends got married August 1st so I got off trail and celebrateddddd.
A trail angel drove me an hour and a half from where I left trail to Mt. Shasta to catch a greyhound bus. In Mt. Shasta I was able to get lunch with two friends from the tramily who I knew were ahead! Sadly the rest were a day behind but so fun to get lunch with the two.
During this break I’ve greatly enjoyed, of course above all, spending time with family and friends. Catching up with and enjoying time among people I love. It was fun to share stories and made me excited for when I return to trail as I shared all the good memories thus far. Also good to reflect on my experience as a whole before I start again. My friends who got married I meet in college so it was so wonderful to get the gang back together. Sad too to leave and realize how short lived these times together are now that we’re all graduated and flown.
I’ve also greatly enjoyed giving the feet a break, eating a lot, having clean hair, sleeping in beds, and just resting the body and soul. Whew we! What a wonderful break and now I’m a little restless to get back to what I’ve left unfinished.
Cheers to Monica and Raz!! Cheers to Marcella and Michael!! It was an ABSOLUTE JOY to celebrate with you.
Highlights:
Had the best shower. As the last part of trail was a very dusty burn area, my legs were coated in dirt. So much so I realized I had a large bruise on the back of my leg only after the shower.
Driving up to Seattle for my cousin’s wedding my friend and I were talking about how we would love Jamba Juice. And I suddenly realized I could just go get it! I didn’t have to dream about it. Timing was perfect we were at a Jamba Juice in less than 10 minutes.
Some wedding duty highlights were holding the chuppah for my cousin’s wedding and running in the Montana State flag for the reception at my friends’ wedding.
Taking an uber at one point I explained to my driver what the PCT is. Trying to understand how I’m carrying everything I needed, such as food, he asked ‘so then are you carrying a microwave?’
Friends and family mentioned reading my blog or things from the blog. Thank you all for reading! I love giving you all updates and glad you’re all enjoying it. It also makes me feel so loved to have you all following along 🥰
